  • Fats, Oils & Grease Remediation

Fats, oils and greases (FOG) include organic compounds derived from plant-based or animal sources composed of long-chain fatty acids formed over time and discharged into sewer lines. As the FOG cools, it accumulates in the interior of sewer lines, lift stations, forced mains and grease traps. FOG build-up in city/municipal wastewater collection lines and lift station build-up causes problems throughout the community including reduced flow in gravity collection lines, wastewater back-ups and lift stations causing false high water alarms.

Both problems lead to frequent and costly service runs. The most common solution for back-ups are emergency lift station pump-outs or hydro jetting the collection lines, which causes poor community relations. State’s proprietary chemical technology utilizes specially blended bacteria and air infusion systems designed to reduce FOG build-up in the collection system.
